Jordan Grenaghan

72 Minutes

Jordan Grenaghan (UK)

Jordan Grenaghan has been writing and composing music from an early age and currently plays bass in a 3 piece rock band performing across England. He has a love and appreciation for most genre's of music and enjoys creating his own songs.

I always had an interest in music from a very young age, but was never interested in performing and writing music until I entered my teens. It had always been like magic to me, sounds that could instantly change your entire mood or paint a magical story in you head. I grew up really adoring artists such as Oasis, Robbie Williams and (I’m not afraid to admit) the Spice Girls… So I wanted to be able to be in the position that they were, I wanted to be able to create sound from nothing and really touch peoples hearts with it, so I picked up a guitar and I’m still trying to figure out how to create the perfect music.

For this project I took a lot of influence from a band named The Glitch Mob, an electronic music group from America who use Ableton a lot in their songwriting and performances. I like how they can paint a picture in your head without even using lyrics, the sounds are enough to make you feel like you’re either preparing for the fight of your life or ascending to heaven in pure bliss. The track that I wrote (72 Minutes) starts off quite slow but builds in to a very laid back song with varying dynamics throughout.  I used very mellow relaxed sounds for this track, for future projects I’d love to be able to plug in real instruments and re-create the track, hopefully I could really make something impressive.

I used gentle compression on the master track to just tighten up the overall thing, I’m very pleased with the final outcome of the song and I think you can definitely tell that it was influenced by The Glitch Mob.

“Kick back and relax, close your eyes and have a listen to Jordan Grenaghans newest track ’72 Minutes’. This track takes you on a melodic adventure like you’ve never experienced”
